Direct Support Professional

Harry Meyering Center supports people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in their homes and community.

Job Description:
As a Direct Support Professional, you help people live fuller, more independent lives. You’ll provide support at home and in the community while building real relationships and gaining valuable career experience.

What You’ll Do:

Provide respectful, individualized care.
Assist with personal cares. (dressing, bathing, feeding, etc.)
Support daily living activities. (cooking, cleaning, laundry)
Participate in community outings. (bowling, shopping, movies, exercise)
Follow health, safety, and HIPAA guidelines.
Complete documentation and other assigned tasks.

Wage:

$18.00 per hour for full-time employees after the completion of a 90-day introductory period, with a starting pay of $17.00 per hour.
$16.50 per hour for part-time employees after the completion of a 90-day introductory period, with a starting pay of $16.00 per hour.

Location: Multiple locations in North Mankato, Mankato, and Eagle Lake.

Schedules Available:

8–40 hours per week
Mornings, evenings, or overnights
Every other weekend required
Holiday/fill‑in opportunities
Flexible scheduling
Common shifts:
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM/8:00 AM - 3:00 PM/7:00 AM - 2:00 PM
- 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM/2:00 PM - 9:00 PM/2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
- Short shifts: 12–4 PM or 4–8 PM

Qualifications:

18+ with a high school diploma or GED
Valid U.S. driver’s license & acceptable driving record
Must pass MN DHS Background Study
Strong communication skills
Willingness to learn, no experience required
Preferred experience: CNA, PCA, DSP, caregiver, or similar
