Harry Meyering Center supports people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in their homes and community.


Job Summary: 
Prepares meals according to the scheduled menu and the needs of individuals served by HMC. Responsible for HMC’s daily menu and ensuring that preparation for the upcoming meals is complete.

Schedule: Typically, Tuesday/Wednesday 10 am—6 pm, Thursday/Friday 5:30 am-1:30 pm, and E/O weekend 5:30 am- 1:30 pm.

Wage: $16.50 

This position is eligible for a $1,000 retention bonus!
Responsibilities:

  • Interact with individuals genuinely and respectfully.
  • Support and/or provide for the dietary needs of individuals.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness, supporting team-oriented work environments, and providing safe working environments.
  • Attend and complete all required training and in-services.
  • Prepare meals according to the schedule and individual(s) dietary needs.
  • Pursue professional growth and development.
  • Must deliver groceries and pick up supplies in all types of weather.
  • Maintain HIPAA Compliance in all written or verbal communications, both external and internal to HMC.
  • Follows all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 and have a high school diploma or general education degree.
  • Prior experience or training is not required but preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effectively communicating with co-workers.
  • Must be self-motivated and exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • The candidate must have a basic knowledge of technology programs, such as Microsoft Office products. The candidate must also be able to use and/or be willing to learn technology for daily charting.
  • Displays a positive attitude towards the job.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and pass a driving record check conducted by our insurance carrier unless otherwise noted.
  • Be a team player who can work independently and carry out job duties as assigned.
  • Must pass an MN Department of Human Services Background Study
