Awake Overnight Caregiver (DSP) – Mankato Area
Job Purpose:
The Direct Support Professional (Awake Overnight) plays a vital role in providing reliable, compassionate overnight care to individuals with disabilities served by Harry Meyering Center. This position requires staying awake throughout the shift to ensure a safe, calm environment, respond to needs or emergencies, and offer reassurance and support as they arise. Responsibilities may include assisting with personal care, monitoring health and safety, completing documentation, and helping maintain a comfortable, secure home. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact during the overnight hours through respectful, person‑centered support.
Schedule: Typically, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including every other weekend.
Location: Mankato, MN
Wage: Staff can receive up to $19.00 per hour, with the full breakdown below.
- $18.00 per hour for full-time employees after the completion of a 90-day introductory period, with a starting pay of $17.00 per hour.
- $16.50 per hour for part-time employees after the completion of a 90-day introductory period, with a starting pay of $16.00 per hour.
- All awake overnight shifts will receive an additional $1.00 per hour for direct care hours worked.

- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must hold a valid United States driver's license and pass a driving record check conducted by our insurance carrier unless otherwise noted.
- Must pass the MN Department of Human Services Background Study.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to complete daily direct care such as bathing, toileting, feeding, and changing.
- Ability to do household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
