Job Purpose
The Registered Nurse Supervisor provides assistance, support, and encouragement to meet the needs of people with disabilities served by HMC. The Registered Nurse Supervisor also provides direct supervision to the Nursing/Medical Services Team. To ensure the provision of nursing services for each person served, with the assistance of the staff as necessary. Services are provided in the individual’s homes and in the community.
Wage: $80,000 to $90,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
Location: Mankato, MN (Onsite, with occasional travel to Faribault)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain current RN license and pursue ongoing professional development.
- Supervise the Nursing/Medical Services team and support staff training and development.
- Provide nursing care in accordance with licensure, HMC policies, and individual care needs.
- Coordinate medications and treatments with providers and pharmacies.
- Ensure accurate, complete medical records and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Support individuals with daily living tasks, including hygiene and meals, as needed.
- Provide direct care during open shifts and act as On-Call RN as scheduled.
- Monitor hospitalizations and recovery of individuals served.
- Deliver and oversee emergency medical care when needed.
- Participate in team meetings, training, admissions, discharges, and care planning.
- Maintain CPR certification and ensure HIPAA, health, and safety compliance.
- Perform administrative support and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduate of accredited school of nursing; holds a current Minnesota Registered Nursing License. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with individuals and co-workers.
- Must be self-motivated and exhibit superior interpersonal communication skills.
- Display a positive attitude towards the job.
- Must have a basic knowledge of technology programs. IE: Microsoft Office products. Be able to use and/or be willing to learn technology for daily charting.
- Be a team player with the ability to work independently and to carry out job duties as assigned.
- Display exceptional documentation skills, knowledge of systems, routines and programming.
- Must pass the MN Department of Human Services Background Study.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and pass a driving record check conducted by our insurance carrier, unless otherwise noted.
